The flame retardant and delay agent

Dr. STHAMER's fire retardant is called BosQRet®. It was specifically developed to significantly inhibit the spread of ground and crown fires. By altering the flammability of vegetation, BosQRet® creates valuable time windows for emergency responders and protects built-up areas and technical facilities near forests.

Application & Technology

Chemical barrier

BosQRet® deprives fire of its fuel by modifying the thermal decomposition of biomass. It delays or stops fast-moving or inaccessible fire fronts and effectively protects critical infrastructure during forest and vegetation fires.

BosQRet® can be deployed directly or indirectly by fire departments on the ground. It can also be used for direct and indirect firefighting from the air using helicopters or firefighting aircraft.

Its ease of use also allows for short-term deployment in special situations. Our expert advisors provide rapid support in exceptional operational situations.

Addition & Application

The mixing ratios vary depending on the application, ranging from 5 to 20 parts per cubic meter of %. A surface application of 1.5 to 3.0 L/m² of forest floor already guarantees a delaying effect. This has been successfully demonstrated at the CEREN testing institute in Valabre and also confirmed by a university in Portugal.

The design of the BosQRet® barrier depends on the height and type of vegetation. We will work with you to develop suitable deployment tactics and provide training support.

The mixture is added using customized mixing technology. We offer this technology tailored to specific application concepts. Efficient emergency logistics support us in the event of larger quantities.

The colorants responsible for the bar's visibility are permanently dissolved in the concentrate of variant #1801. Stirring the concentrate or application solution after prolonged storage is unnecessary, significantly reducing the workload before and during use.

Environmental compatibility was verified through an independent soil survey conducted by an accredited institute. Maximum input quantities were defined, thus providing the user with operational safety. 

BosQRet® is fully biodegradable and partly made from raw materials from the food industry and agricultural technology.
